Hi, On last week, XSF (XMPP Standards Foundation) held a conference 'XMPP Summit' and we had presented our prooposal on XMPP over EXI. The slide is available from the following URL: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o2rffakg6s37de3/XMPP_Summit_2014.pdf In summary, we are trying to make some IoT system (in particular, machine-to-human communication in off-line mountains). Stationary beacon node in mountains and smartphones of the climbers should work without any external power supply. To reduce power consumption of XML processing (transmission, zlib compression, etc.) we adopted EXI as XMPP message encoding. The co-presenter (Akari) has wrote a server-side proxy between XML-based XMPP and proposed EXI-based XMPP and we confirm this works with stupidly-simple arduino client. Any questions are welcome. The proposal of EXI encoding to XMPP is XEP-0322. It will be updated soon. http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0322.html Regards, Yusuke
