Hi Santhanakrishnan,
A sub-type is a type that is derived from another type (called its base
type). In the context of XML Schema, a sub-type S of a base type B would
specify B as its {base type definition}. A named sub-type is a sub-type that
specifies a {name}. See [1] for more information about {base type
definition}s.
