span-div, div-span, naps-vid, vid-naps, dvi-aspn, as-pn-vi- td??

I am illiterate so do not reply, but think on this.

The <div> and <span> tags are loads of fun, but put them together with <td>
in the CSS soup and incompatibility takes on a whole new purpose.

Why is easy to answer. HTML 4 positioning is very wanting.

Add to the above tags any notion of cross browser page centering and you run
into and stone wall.

Be good folks and firm up percentages as a fully addressed unit of measure.
