In this weblog, I had the opportunity to read [[[ There are some hot discussions among web developers that we can never stop leaning. I really think the same way. ]]] -- quinn[at]higurashi : Got keep learning http://quinn.higurashi.dyndns.org/article/2005/11/got_keep_learning/ He's giving links to a few interesting posts: [[[ A web professional can never stop learning Just in the last couple of days I have read no less than three articles that all bring up something I have felt for a long time: Web professionals who refuse to update their skills and insist on using outdated methods can no longer be called web professionals. Some will call me an elitist for saying that. But think about it. Why should web professionals not be required to know their craft? I find that attitude %u2013 which is held by many in the industry and by many more outside of it %u2013 insulting to those of us who work hard every day to keep up with current best practices. ]]] -- A web professional can never stop learning | 456 Berea Street http://www.456bereastreet.com/archive/200511/ a_web_professional_can_never_stop_learning/ [[[ As part of the WaSP Edu TF, I am here to say that we need more effort in more areas, as a group, as a *New Professional*, as an individual. It is not enough to educate ourselves and each other, though it is a good plan and a start, and not all that new. We need to educate, promote, and advocate change to the educators, schools, and the programs or courses. The state of web related education is sub- standard in most cases. The degrees and training signify little in many cases. A lot of work needs to be done. ]]] -- Beyond New Professionalism http://robdickerson.com/blog/?p=9 -- Karl Dubost - http://www.w3.org/People/karl/ W3C Conformance Manager *** Be Strict To Be Cool ***
