Hi Vladimir! How about just declaring the place types as rdfs:subClassOf skos:Concept, and then use rdf:type to represent the relation between places and place types? I've done similar things with other vocabularies. Though the fact that the place types are also AAT concepts might be a problem here, because then the place types must be both skos:Concept and owl:Class instances at the same time.
