Hi all, I'm on holiday for a couple of weeks, so I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year! Some parting comments ... I'm extremely heartened to see so much lively debate, and especially to see the more challenging and controversial issues which SKOS raises discussed with so much clarity. It gives me a lot of hope! As we enter this new phase of development for SKOS within the W3C Recommendation track, it is vital that we work towards grounding all discussion with *concrete use cases and examples*. I'm very glad that Antoine, Jon and Daniel were able to send out the recent call for use cases [1] - it is these use cases that will determine the direction SKOS takes in 2007. It is also worth bearing in mind that we have a limited time frame - SKOS is scheduled to reach Last Call Working Draft by November 2007. Some difficult choices may have to be made in order to reach a practical solution, and those choices will have to be justified. Use cases give us something with which to evaluate the trade-offs and the consequences of the decisions we make. Cheers, Alistair.
