Hello y’all! Here are the minutes from today’s equity community group meeting: https://www.w3.org/2023/07/17-equity-cg-minutes.html * Iterated on a working definition of equity for recommendation to the W3C. * Discussed a plan for a roadmap of work, to include initial recommendations for equity guidance and a longer-term plan to evolve the W3C Accessibility Maturity Model<https://w3c.github.io/maturity-model/> to be broader than accessibility, so the W3C audience can assess equity. W3C groups could use that to assess their work for equity impact. * Seek other equity assessment frameworks to guide this work and invite others who have done this. * Recognize we need more diversity of perspectives in this work and seek to recruit more involvement, including exploring the potential of obtaining funding to pay some for their work. While this might be a stretch goal we want to practice equity principles in this work. Our next meeting is Monday, July 31. I hope to see you there!
