Dear Publishing Business Group members and other Publishing@W3C folks: on behalf of the chairs and steering committee I wanted to let folks know that we won't have a Publishing BG F2F meeting on Friday afternoon after completion of the Publishing Summit conference as originally contemplated. Instead we will hold, in the same room as Publishing Summit, open discussion with a number of W3C Team members and other key folks who will be there for "office hours" (if 1:1 interaction is desired, for example to address specific questions you may have) / "table topics" (if some broader discussion around issues self-organizes). Basically just whoever shows up with questions/ideas about Publishing@W3C activities, about other W3C initiatives, about EPUB, about Readium open source development, about publishing a11y initiatives, etc. - we will try to have folks there who can discuss these issues. Confirmed so far are myself, Ivan Herman, and Karen Myers of W3C, Bill Kasdorf the program chair of the Publishing Summit event, as well as Ric Wright and Laurent Le Meur of Readium Foundation, and I'm sure we will have more so please plan to drop in after lunch Friday. Time will be 1:30-3:00pm. Quite a few folks have earlier flights and we have agenda items like deciding on process and timing of election of new Steering Committee members that was felt merited global participation that we could not necessarily get F2F in San Francisco. And we felt the "office hours"/"table topics" approach for informal interaction would be a better way to use that time slot especially at the end of a long week. So come hang out with your fellow Web and publishing technology mavens in SF if you are at TPAC on Friday afternoon (either because you registered for TPAC overall or just for the Publishing Summit). Who knows, we may even have snacks. And best of all, no RSVP necessary nor will this be covered under any particular IP or membership policy. No IRC or minutes either. It will be an un-meeting. Thanks, --Bill P.S. there's still time for you / colleagues to sign up for the Nov 9-10 Publishing Summit but act now - more info: https://www.w3.org/publishing/events/summit2017.html .
