Voting Results

Hi all,

Thank you for submitting your feedback and votes for the transition.

Here are the results:

  1. RESOLVED: EPUB 3.3 and EPUB Reading Systems 3.3 will be published using the old process, they are not living standards
  2. RESOLVED: EPUB Accessibility 1.1 will be published using the old process, it will not be a living standard
  3. RESOLVED: Send EPUB 3.3 to Proposed Recommendation status (PR)
  4. RESOLVED: Send EPUB Reading Systems 3.3 to Proposed Recommendation status (PR)
  5. RESOLVED: Send EPUB Accessibility 1.1 to Proposed Recommendation status (PR)

The resolution regarding ISO is not resolved.

  1. Proposed: EPUB 3.3, EPUB Reading Systems 3.3, and EPUB Accessibility 1.1 will be sent to ISO using the PAS process once published as recommendations

After a discussion yesterday with some of those who raised concerns regarding moving EPUB to ISO, we have decided to put a hold on making a decision for the time being. We plan to reopen the discussion when EPUB 3.3/RS 3.3/A11y 1.1 are made full recommendations, at which point we will hopefully have more information on the impact of such a decision.

We will be submitting the PR request for transition this week. One small note to make people aware, we discovered we had missed an editorial request in the CR transition regarding a reference that was no longer valid. Matt has put together a PR to address the change:

                https://github.com/w3c/epub-specs/pull/2531

This PR is to remove the reference to getOverrideStyle and the DOM Level 2 Style, which is a deprecated specification with no implementations. Please comment if you have any opposition, otherwise we will merge it before transition.

Thank you again to everyone for your hard work and contributions, the finish line is in sight!

Cheers,
Wendy, Dave, Shinya, and Ivan
