Dear all, I have a draft for a paper that discusses the potentials and pitfalls of using semantic web technologies for humanitarian data exchange, using HXL as a concrete example. The paper was already accepted for the OXHIP conference this summer, but I had to withdraw it because I turned out that I could not attend. I am thinking about using this as a starting point for a joint paper for the AAAI Spring Symposium 2015: Structured Data for Humanitarian Technologies: Perfect fit or Overkill? (http://knoesis.org/hemant/symposium/aaai2015) that is co-organized by some in this group. Is anybody interested in joining me for this? If so, I’d put it up on a GitHub repo and whoever wants to contribute can do so. The meeting will be in the middle of the semester, though, so it is not entirely clear whether I will be able to go. So it would be great to have someone on board who is planning to attend the symposium anyway. Any takers?
