RE: [ckan-discuss] U.S. government data portal launched on CKAN

The link you sent is for the Socrata datasets. It looks like the federal government is still using Socrata for some datasets (about ~6,000), but the bulk of them (~74,000) now appear to be on CKAN at http://catalog.data.gov/dataset. If you want to download a dataset from Socrata, just click on the dataset, then up on the right hand side of the page you'll see a button called Export (in between Visualize and Embed, right below the "Find in this Dataset" search bar).
