Data Transparency 2013

Friends:

Yesterday the Data Transparency Coalition announced Data Transparency
2013<http://datatransparency2013.org>,
the first U.S. federal open data policy conference, scheduled for September
10 in Washington, DC. Jeanne Holm, whose tireless leadership of the eGov IG
(and of much, much else) has graciously agreed to be one of our featured
speakers.

Data Transparency 2013 will bring together legislative-branch and
executive-branch leaders in open data for the first time. Until now,
legislative initiatives like the DATA
Act<http://datacoalition.com/issues/data-act.html>and executive-branch
work like Data.gov and the President's Open Data
Policy have developed independently. Data Transparency 2013 will feature
collaborative breakout sessions on cross-cutting aspects of the federal
government's data portfolio - spending, regulation, management, and more -
to identify the policy steps needed to open up data in those areas.

I hope you all will consider joining us.
Registration<http://datatransparency2013.eventbrite.com>is free for
government employees and discounted to $25 for nonprofits.

Best,

Hudson
