Dear all (apologies for Cross Posting) Intermediate LOD2 Stack Release, March 2012: http://bit.ly/wgbl0J ------------------ The LOD2 consortium proudly announces the release 1.1 of the LOD2 Technology Stack available at: http://stack.lod2.eu . The LOD2 stack is an integrated distribution of aligned tools which support the life-cycle of Linked (Open) Data from extraction, authoring/creation over enrichment, interlinking, fusing to visualization and maintenance. The stack comprises tools from the LOD2 partners and third parties. The LOD2 stack is organized as a Debian package repository making the tool stack easy to install on any Debian-based system (e.g. Ubuntu). A quick look at the stack and its components is available via the online demo at: http://demo.lod2.eu/lod2demo . For a more thorough experimentation, virtual machine images with LOD2 Stack installation script can be downloaded . More details and the instructions on installing the LOD2 Stack from scratch are available in the HOWTO Start section on the brand new LOD2 stack documentation wiki . The documentation wiki contains also an overview of the webinars on the LOD2 stack and short use-case tutorials using the LOD2 stack. The IPR report describing the legal aspects of the LOD2 stack can also be found at this site. This release contains updates to the components Ontowiki, Silk, and Virtuoso. In addition the lod2-stack has 3 new components: • the Linking tool Limes (ULEI) and its webinterface Colanut (ULEI), • the Spatial Semantic Browser (ULEI), a visualization widget for geospartial RDF data, and • the XML to RDF document processing tool Valiant (TenForce). The existing and new components are now accessible via the LOD2 demonstrator webinterface. The LOD2 stack is an open platform for Linked (Open) Data components. We are happy to welcome the mentioned new components. Detailed instructions on how to integrate your component into the LOD2 Stack as Debian package are available in the HOWTO contribute guide . For assistance or any questions related to the LOD2-stack contact support-stack@lod2.eu . From now on we will regularly release improved and extended versions of the LOD2 Stack. Major releases are expected for Fall 2012 and 2013. ------------------ -- Martin Kaltenböck, CMC Managing Partner, CFO Semantic Web Company (SWC) Mariahilfer Strasse 70 / 8 A - 1070 Vienna, Austria Tel +43 1 402 12 35 - 25 Fax +43 1 402 12 35 - 22 Mobile +43 650 3905697 http://www.semantic-web.at http://blog.semantic-web.at http://poolparty.biz LOD2 - Creating Knowledge out of Interlinked Data - http://lod2.eu/
