All, I've expanded the initial sketch of the dcat use cases & requirements into a full document. It's here on the wiki: http://www.w3.org/egov/wiki/Data_Catalog_Vocabulary/Use_Cases_and_Requirements The page now lists four use cases for dcat: * Catalog federation (UC1) * Advanced queries against catalogs (UC2) * Bulk data processing (UC3) * Distributed publishing (UC4) and ten requiremets: * Machine-readable representations of catalog entries * Retrieval of all catalog entries * Persistent URIs for catalog entries * Update checks for individual datasets * Discovery of new and updated catalog entries * Tracking of data provenance * Coverage of typical catalog metadata * Simple transformation from existing catalog data * Extensible metadata model * Bandwidth conserving Feedback is very welcome at this stage. The thing that would help me most at the moment are expressions of interest (or disinterest) for specific use cases. Which of the four are relevant to your organization? Where should the dcat group focus its attention? And do you have other requirements that are not covered by the list? Thanks a lot, Richard
