While we had some meeting confusion today, but a plan does seem to be forming. 1) It is apparent that there is already some great gov oriented demo work going on (E.G. RPI) 2) But, it is fragmented and doesn't show the "network effect" of linked data - they are mostly stand-alone. 3) So, instead of this group "doing a demo", perhaps it is coordinating and promoting a set of demos around our theme (connecting the what and how of government spending) 4) We would set up the framework for this, tell the story, make whatever technology choices are needed and then show how this SET OF RESOURCE using the set of linked data solves some specific government problems. 5) The "demo" could then be virtual and up and running all the time - at multiple locations 6) Once it reaches a level of maturity we could get on the agenda of some high-level government functions to present the demo and use case. 7) Since this would provide high-level exposure it would be a reason for developers to get involved. If we give them a problem to solve and a framework we are likely to get some cool stuff. 8) The next steps are to start putting together the story line, the resource page so developers can find each others stuff and any technical guidelines for participation.
