Dear Members of the Web Editing Working Group, I'm relaying the following announcement that was sent to W3C Advisory Committee Representative earlier today, to notify the group of the new charter approval and call for participation. With kind regards, Xueyuan Jia, Marketing & Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Call for Participation: Web Editing Working Group Charter Approved; Join the Web Editing WG Date: Wed, 27 Sep 2023 16:09:39 +0800 From: xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs] W3C is pleased to announce the re-charter of the Web Editing Working Group. https://www.w3.org/2023/09/webediting-charter-2023.html The group is chartered through 26 September 2025. The mission of the Web Editing Working Group is to explore limitations in existing browser primitives, provide use cases for new APIs and suggest solutions either by standardizing of existing behaviors or introducing new APIs relevant for text editing. The goal is to facilitate the creation of fully-featured editing systems as well as small editors using JavaScript. Please use the following form to have your organization join the group. The form will also instruct you how to nominate participants: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/webediting/join/ Current participants do not need to rejoin the group because the group's scope remains unchanged. Please consider diversity when proposing people to participate in W3C groups. Representation from a wider group of people, especially people from under-represented groups, is vital for creating web standards that meet the needs of the wider web community. The Working Group chair is Johannes Wilm (W3C Invited Expert). The Team Contact is Xiaoqian Wu for a total of 0.1 FTE. More information about the group can be found on the group home page: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/webediting/ The rechartering announcement follows section 5.7.2 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2023/Process-20230612/#ACReviewAfter The Call for Participation follows section 4.4 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2023/Process-20230612/#cfp Thank you, For Philippe le Hégaret, W3C Strategy and Project Lead, Xiaoqian Wu, Web Editing Working Group Team Contact; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications [...] For all changes relative to the charter that was reviewed, see: https://services.w3.org/htmldiff?doc1=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2023%2F07%2Feditingwg-charter-2023.html&doc2=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2023%2F09%2Fwebediting-charter-2023.html
