Dear Advisory Committee Representative,
[This announcement will be forwarded to the group and to W3C group chairs]

The Web Editing Working Group charter is hereby extended until 09
September 2023.
https://www.w3.org/2021/06/web-editing-wg-charter.html

W3C also announces that Grisha Lyukshin (Microsoft) has recently stepped
down from chairing the Web Editing Working Group. We would like to
express our thanks to Grisha for his contribution to the group. Johannes
Wilm (W3C Invited Expert) continues as the group Chair.

The mission of the Web Editing Working Group is to explore limitations
in existing browser primitives, provide use cases for new APIs and
suggest solutions either by standardizing of existing behaviors or
introducing new APIs relevant for text editing. The goal is to
facilitate the creation of fully-featured editing systems as well as
small editors using JavaScript.

This extension will allow additional time to continue the development of
a new Working Group charter.

More information about the Web Editing Working Group can be found on its
home page [1], including information about group Chair, Team Contact and
instructions for joining the group.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact
Xiaoqian Wu <xiaoqian@w3.org>, Web Editing WG Team Contact.
