This is feedback on the following Last Call Working Drafts: Evaluation and Report Language (EARL) 1.0 Schema W3C Working Draft 10 May 2011 http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-EARL10-Schema-20110510/ Developer Guide for Evaluation and Report Language (EARL) 1.0 W3C Working Draft 10 May 2011 http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-EARL10-Guide-20110510/ There is a conflict between the two documents in the following two assertions: (1) “5. Exactly one Test Result, referenced by earl:result, for each Assertion a. Exactly one date (as defined by XML Datatypes), referenced by dct:date, for each Test Result” § 4.1 Conforming EARL 1.0 Reports http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-EARL10-Guide-20110510/#EARL10Reports (2) “It is recommended to provide additional information about the Test Result by using the following properties from external vocabularies: ... dct:date Date on which the result was obtained (typically when the subject was tested).” § 2.5. TestResult Class http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-EARL10-Schema-20110510/#TestResult The former, (1), says that dct:date is required, whereas the latter, (2), says that dct:date is only recommended which implies optionality and puts it on the same level as dct:title and dct:description which *aren't* required in the Guide (they're given as zeroOrOne). This bug is probably a consequence of Bug 002. -- Sean B. Palmer, http://inamidst.com/sbp/
