Discussion about a possible joint WG with the DDI-Alliance

Dear Dataset Exchange WG participants,

I was in Dagstuhl last week, in a workshop [1] co-organized by the 
DDI-Alliance [2], which I believe some of you already know.

There is an interest in the DDI community to push some of their work on 
the W3C Recommendation track. Given the scope of this work, the Dataset 
Exchange Working Group seemed to me as a good venue for that. 
Furthermore, in order to maximize participation from both sides, the 
idea was raised to turn it into a joint working group between W3C and 
the DDI Alliance -- also taking into account that there is already a 
significant intersection between both communities.
