Perhaps we agree. Putting a rough wine in a fancy bottle in a posh wine
cellar doesn’t make it better wine. It may make it more expensive, so long
as nobody tries drinking it. The “Agent” type is no better defined in
either of its formulations - it’s a hack that serves a pragmatic purpose.
