DCMI supports the idea of a Dataset Exchange WG [1]. Aside from our interest in DCAT as a user of DCMI metadata terms, DCMI has been interested in advancing best practice in the area of application profiles for over fifteen years. It would be good to see this group liaise with the Shape Expressions Community Group [2] regarding the construction of application profiles usable for data validation -- a group in which DCMI is actively engaged.
