My comments on the DWBP Draft

I'm listing these in no particular order, and without the charm and grace I
would normally provide as I'm trying to be quick and direct. Apologies for
weighing in so late...

1. We constantly tell the reader that the publisher and the consumer may
not know each other. Everywhere. I think we can say that once, or maybe
twice...

2. Lots of times we are telling the reader what the Web is, how it is
making the world so much better, etc. I think we can omit these.

3. The document would benefit from a glossary of key terms in the
beginning, with footnote links. Then we would not have to inject
definitions into the prose.

4. I'd like to see a comprehensive list of the Best Practices we are
recommending up front after the Glossary, with links to each section.
Would that be possible?

5. Before the conlusion, I'd love to see a narrative and pictoral example
of what an Open Data Portal looks like when it implements our
recommendations.

There is a lot in this document. The prose is easy to read and understand.
I like that. Sometimes our tone feels a bit insecure and we should be more
assertive. Not a command tone, but definitive.

Wish I could join you this week.

Best Regards,

Steve
