Getting ready to start

Dear all,

Welcome to the new Data on the Web Best Practices Working Group.

The chairs and I are looking forward to getting under way next month and
we're working on getting various things in place.

Subject to final confirmation, the first conference call will be on
Friday 24th January at 14:00 GMT. See [1] for that time in your time zone.

Between now and then, allowing for Christmas and summer holidays (this
group so far has a strong South American/southern hemisphere
contingent!), the chairs will be deciding on how they want the group to
proceed and how they'll manage the process to ensure the successful
delivery of the charter. We will also be putting effort into recruiting
further members of the group of course.

There are three main means of communication:

- this mailing list;
- the wiki (http://www.w3.org/2013/dwbp/);
- the weekly conference calls.

These will become very familiar to you in the near future but you should
fell free to raise topics on this list and, if needed, create pages in
the wiki. Both this list and the wiki are publicly readable but only
writeable by members of the group. Only members of the group receive
actual e-mail from this list.

Please make a note of the date and time of the first conference call.
That may or may not become the regular weekly slot - that's up to you
and the chairs.

Enjoy the summer and/or festive period,

Looking forward to getting down to business in 2014.

Cheers

Phil.
