Dear all, We are pleased to inform you that the European Commission invites metadata experts who work on data portals hosting spatial data to participate in a new Working Group to develop the GeoDCAT-AP specification. GeoDCAT-AP will be an extension of the DCAT application profile for data portals in Europe (DCAT-AP) for describing geospatial datasets. Briefly, the objective is to agree on a DCAT-AP compliant representation of geospatial metadata. To achieve this, GeoDCAT-AP will consolidate and extent preliminary work concerning the alignment of INSPIRE metadata with DCAT-AP (referred to as INSPIRE+DCAT-AP):http://europa.eu/!wT77pV You may find this work of relevance to your work on Data on the Web best Practices. More details on the planned work and the timing are available at https://joinup.ec.europa.eu/node/139283/ The first telecon is planned within the end of this month - a Doodle poll has been set up to decide the date: http://doodle.com/acpbgpxtv7yi5d2a Should you have further comments or questions, do not hesitate to contact us. with kind regards, Stijn *Professional Mail* ______________________________________________________________________ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
