Open and linked data for educational purposes - Vici Competition award announcements

Dear All,

We've just announced our LinkedUp Project <http://linkedup-project.eu/> 
Vici awards at  at ISWC 2014, the 13th International Semantic Web 
Conference, in Riva del Garda, Italy.

The Vici shortlist <http://linkedup-challenge.org/vici/> contains ten 
innovative, mature tools. The evaluation panel selected the following 
four submissions as the winners.

*The Third Place (€1000 each) is shared by:*
The Visualization of Water Resources & Ecology
AGRIS, a system to support Agricultural Science and Technology worldwide

*Second Place (€2000):*
Didactalia, a system which is a lighthouse example for the use of 
Semantic Web and Linked Data and helps you to browse, find and use 
learning material on many different topics, for different age groups and 
from various educational repositories.

*F**irst Place (€3000):*
FLAX, provides data for language learning in a new and innovative way by 
combining corpora, varying from TED talks to academic collections.

The winner of the *People’s Choice Award* was selected by the 
participants of the ISWC 2014 conference. The Award was won by the 
Visualization of Water Resources & Ecology.
