Just a note regarding the attachment:

  - When I click on the attachment in the email I received in my inbox, a copy of your email opens up. That
     copy has an attachment which is the proper ICS file.

  - When I click on the attachment in the archived version of the email [1], I do not get that behavior (and can’t
    get the ICS file).

i decided to test the archive by attaching the same ICS file you sent via my mailer. And it seems to work fine:

So I am wondering whether you have a mail client issue.
