comments regarding about DPUB IG Metadata Task Force Report

When I read the topic, about DPUB IG Metadata Task Force Report, it seems to talk about publishers industry, which is a bit far away from my working experience. However, it also can be implemented into other sectors, such as scientific publishing, libraries and so on. I hold the working experience in bank and also gave out the suggestion to my customers via the phone and sent the message via the CRM system to the customers' phone or email box. Also, I had the degree, Master of Science in Management, But, when I just read this article, I felt boring and struggling. To my surprised, when I read "Specific recommendation" part, I felt better. Seemingly, pay attention to encouraging proper understanding and use of URIs and of RDF/RDFa. MTF developed two ways. For example, in some online trade book publishing supply chain industry, e.g. BISG, BIC, and EDItEUR(the book publishing supply chain), IDEAlliance(magazin publishers), and STM(scholarly publishing), most of them chose to use Metadata Task Force to run out the organization. If this example could be moved into the earlier part, it will be better for me to understand. Futhermore, the author gave out more examples for our understanding.

Furthermore, the article gave out more explanation. In Trade book publishers, Using this technical could increase the sales. In Educational publishers, it could personalize content to individual students in order to associate learning objectives. In Scholarly publishers, it seems to cause some problem when it has been used. In Magazine publishers, it could help users to standard their framework, by IPTC photo and media metadata, rNews, newsML and schema.org.

When I read Important Themes part, I felt much better and gained more. Interview document gave a lot perspectives. I would like to share some of them with others. Just citing some feedback from the people in the interview, SACRIFICING RICHNESS FOR SIMPLICITY, it was scholarly/STM publishing side, where many folks actually think of metadata as a "solved problem". Why doesit work so well? Because CrossRef was created initially for a single purpose-- to enable reference linking--and so things folks want, because.....To be honest, when I just read this feedback from the customers, I think the customer was just a bit naive or didn't understand any technology, maybe just a commen user. However, when I read the authers' perspective of them, I changed the mind. For example, they could figure out the problem or improvement. Towards to the above case, the customer seems to want to make metadata more effective. If I am a product manager, I will be happy because this give us some chance to improve our product and provide better service to our current customer, unless they might just look for other company.....
