Of interest

Hi All,

I found an article this morning [1] about the US OMB & Treasury Department's recommendations regarding the US DATA Act. One of the biggest issues according to the article, is the recommendation of the DUNS identifier for identifying business entities, a proprietary number. Of course it's not something that should be included in the list of identifiers being considered by this group, but it is a prime example of the need for universal, open, and actionable identifiers (thanks, Bill Kasdorf!). Additionally, according to the Github page there's only one more day to make any comments or give feedback (e.g. suggest alternative identifiers) on these recommendations [2][3].

Best,

Ayla
