I thought folks would be interested to know that the daily Knowledgespeak Newsletter, widely read in the publishing community (particularly by STM folks), featured the Metadata TF Note as the top item in today's edition. This goes out as an e-mail, which had this summary . . .

Digital Publishing Interest Group publishes Group Note of DPUB IG Metadata Task Force Report<http://www.knowledgespeak.com/newsArchieveviewdtl.asp?pickUpID=20730&pickUpBatch=2610#20730>

The Digital Publishing Interest Group<http://www.w3.org/dpub/IG/wiki/Main_Page> has published a Group Note of DPUB IG Metadata Task Force Report. The Metadata Task Force of the DPUB IG found, through extensive interviews with representatives of various sectors and roles within the publishing ecosystem, that there are numerous pain points for publishers with regard to metadata but that these pain points are largely not due to deficiencies in the Open Web Platform.

. . . linked to the full article on the Web [1]. Better yet, in the full article on the Web they picked up our introduction verbatim, thus getting this message out to a whole bunch of folks who would never be likely to encounter a W3C Note. Since the fundamental conclusion of our work was the need for better awareness and understanding of these issues and specifically OWP technologies across the publishing ecosystem, this is really helpful!
