FYI; I am not sure how this would affect publishing (aren't font files distributed as part of a book?). But is certainly affect magazines... Ivan Begin forwarded message: > ---- > WOFF File Format 2.0 First Public Working Draft Published > // W3C News > > The WebFonts Working Group has published a First Public Working Draft of WOFF File Format 2.0. Based on experience with WOFF 1.0, which is widely deployed, this specification provides improved compression and thus lower use of network bandwidth, while still allowing fast decompression even on mobile devices. This is achieved by combining a content-aware preprocessing step and improved entropy coding, compared to the Flate compression used in WOFF 1.0. > ---- Ivan Herman, W3C Digital Publishing Activity Lead Home: http://www.w3.org/People/Ivan/ mobile: +31-641044153 GPG: 0x343F1A3D WebID: http://www.ivan-herman.net/foaf#me
