Dear SSI-developing friends with W3C-DID,

Would you be interested in getting a grant for further developing your SSI component?

The European Horizon 2020 NGI eSSIF-Lab<https://essif-lab.eu/> programme has an upcoming Infrastructure-Oriented open Call, with grants of up to 155 000 € (9 months projects). The call is open to European innovators, and focusses on the development and interop testing of open-source SSI components.

Apply for a grant at eSSIF-Lab Infrastructure-oriented Open Call <https://essif-lab-infrastructure-oriented.fundingbox.com/>

You would be joining for cooperation to earlier business-oriented<https://gitlab.grnet.gr/essif-lab/essif-lab/-/tree/master/business-open-call-1> and infrastructure-oriented<https://gitlab.grnet.gr/essif-lab/essif-lab/-/tree/master/infrastructure-call> subgrantees. The goal is not only to develop and interop-test your component, but also to get it commercially used by eSSIF-Lab subgrantees from a second business-oriented call<https://essif-lab.eu/open-calls/> (late spring 2021).

Here are some examples of SSI components that would be welcome.
· SSI phone Apps and/or browser add-ons that work with different kinds of credentials (e.g. VCs, ABCs, …)
· Web server proxies that implement, or connect with components for the various SSI roles
· Revocation service that allows verifier to check for revocation of a credential any time after it was presented
· ‘On the fly' requesting the issuance of a credential when it is asked for by a verifier, but missing in the wallet
· Cryptographically enforceable issuer policies
· Countermeasures against SSI coercion
· Tooling for the governance of local assurance communities, which trusted issuers for specific categories of credentials
· Solutions that aid the integration of multiple SSI technologies
· Solutions that aid the interoperability between different SSI components
· Solutions with EBSI-ESSIF compatibility
Other proposals are welcome too. Surprise us!

Please note the next deadline: Monday 4 January 2021, 13:00 CET (Brussels local time). However, the open call will still admit applications after that until the end of June 2021.

Best regards,

Oskar
