DAP-ISSUE-128 (gmandyam): Need more description on how bandwidth should be estimated [Network Information API] http://www.w3.org/2009/dap/track/issues/128 Raised by: Giridhar Mandyam On product: Network Information API Current specification states that bandwidth (when UA can estimate it) should be "an estimation of the current bandwidth in MB/s (Megabytes per seconds) available for communication with the browsing context active document's domain." There needs to be more specificity as to how the UA should estimate bandwidth. For instance, a UA that estimates bandwidth only on the basis of the previous resource request may exhibit significant variability in the bandwidth estimation. On the other hand, a UA that estimates bandwidth by smoothing over a long time period may provide an unusable estimate.
