CfC to add Web Bluetooth, Web Serial and WebUSB to the DAS WG Charter - review by 25 April 2026

Hi DAS WG participants,

This is a Call for Consensus to add Web Bluetooth, Web Serial and WebUSB as new tentative deliverables to the Devices and Sensors Working Group Charter as part of the upcoming rechartering cycle.

Please review the proposed charter changes [1] and reply to public-device-apis@w3.org<mailto:public-device-apis@w3.org> by 25 April 2026 if you have any concerns. Silence is considered consent.

See also the current charter [2] and the latest charter draft [3] to which these proposed changes are expected to be integrated into.

This charter change is made in response to a request by Mozilla to add these deliverables to this Working Group.

The proposals have been incubated in the WICG and the Web Bluetooth CG. They are currently implemented in Chromium-based browsers and Mozilla has shared its intents to prototype and implement [4,5,6].
