CfC to publish Device Posture API Candidate Recommendation Snapshot - review by 8 Nov 2024

Hi DAS WG participants,

This is a Call for Consensus to publish the Device Posture API as a Candidate Recommendation Snapshot (CRS) per TPAC 2024 resolution [1].

Please review the latest Working Draft [2] that will be used as the basis for this publication and reply to public-device-apis@w3.org by 8 Nov 2024 if you have any concerns with this publication plan. Silence is considered consent.

To summarize the current status:

The specification meets all Working Group requirements [3].

Normative dependencies are of adequate stability. Since the First Public Working Draft, redundant normative dependencies have been removed ([cssom-view], [FULLSCREEN], [PAGE-VISIBILITY]) and a new normative dependency added [WEBDRIVER2] for test automation.

An implementation report is available at [4] and the specification has received wide review [5].

No features are identified as at risk.
