Hi all, As you may recall, the Working Group used to develop the Network Information API, but shelved it a couple of years ago due to lack of clear commitment from implementors (despite some existing implementation). http://www.w3.org/TR/2014/NOTE-netinfo-api-20140410/ Because of that ambiguous status, the spec was kept as a deliverable of the group in the new charter, to allow us to restart work if and when the situation evolved. There has been recent discussions on renewed interest on that work in the Web Platform Incubator Community Group: https://discourse.wicg.io/t/proposal-resume-work-on-network-information-api/1479 The WICG is offering to incubate the work to determine which implementors are interested in adopting it, with what changes; the Device & Sensors WG would then be the natural home for the incubated work to go through the final steps of the Recommendation track. To facilitate the incubation process, the WICG has taken ownership of the github repository where the specification has been developed: https://github.com/wicg/netinfo (from https://github.com/w3c/netinfo) The repos have been configured so that the former editors draft URL redirects to the new one: http://wicg.github.io/netinfo/ I encourage anyone interested in that work to follow the Github repository activity: https://github.com/WICG/netinfo Thanks, Dom
