Re: [admin] Welcome to the DAP WG!

I sent this note out in August but never saw a response so maybe it didn't
go through. Here it is again!

Hello!

I'm new to the Device APIs Working Group mailing list and wanted to
introduce myself. My name is Lisa Seacat DeLuca and I'm a mobile software
engineer for IBM currently focusing on Apache Cordova. I noticed there
appears to be a lot of overlap between the Cordova APIs and the specs this
working group is focusing on. I'm curious if anyone from this working
group is also involved with Cordova? Another area I'm interested in
learning more about is the accessibility aspects of the specs. For
example, in html there is an alt element for images to specify a textual
description of the image, is there something similar available for the
Media Capture specs?

I can contribute by providing a hook into the Cordova development team as
I am a committer for Apache Cordova as well as helping to test
specifications, etc. My background is in Java development as well as web
technologies such as html, css, and javascript and of course hybrid mobile
development.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone more. Feel free to reach
out to me on Linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/in/lisaseacat

Dear Lisa

(belated) Welcome to the Device APIs Working Group!

If you have not already done so, please review the group charter [1], the
public working group page and its roadmap [2], and the approved and draft
meeting minutes [3]. The working group page has information on our
meetings [4], including our weekly teleconferences. You will want to use
IRC at meetings [5] and if a dedicated IRC client does not work you can
use the web client [6].

All of our technical work is to be done on our public mailing list (
public-device-apis@w3.org ) [7] and in our Media Capture task force [8]
and WebIntents task force (not active) [9]. Please note that mail for the
task forces does not appear on the DAP mailing list, so you have to join
the task forces explicitly to participate. The task forces may also have
additional teleconferences.

Please note that we are *not* planning on meeting at TPAC - we currently
have no F2F scheduled.

Please introduce yourself on this mailing list (if you haven't already
done so), indicating who you are, why you are interested in participating
in the Device APIs WG, which parts of the charter are of particular
interest, your expectations, and where you might be able to contribute.

Thank you

regards, Frederick
