Thank you for the welcome and the notes Frederick. Hello to everybody, This is Ernesto Jimenez, I recently joined the standards team in Vodafone R&D where I'm going to be working in mobile development using web technologies and that's why I joined the DAP WG. My interest is quite broad given that different APIs offer access to a different set of opportunities, so it's hard to point to particular APIs at the moment, but I'm sure that will change as soon as I get up to speed and start focusing :) I hope to get up to speed as soon as possible and start contributing to the WG. Looking forward to work with you! The working group page has information on our meetings [4], including our weekly teleconferences. You will want to use IRC at meetings [5] and if a dedicated IRC client does not work you can use the web client [6]. You should also review the revised charter under review for WG rechartering [7]. > > All of our technical work is to be done on our public mailing list ( public-device-apis@w3.org ) [8]. > > Our next face-face meeting is scheduled for 19,20,21 July 2011 (near Paris). We have a registration page [9] - please complete it whether or not you plan to attend. We also have logistics information for the F2F [10]. > > Please introduce yourself on this mailing list, indicating who you are, why you are interested in participating in the Device APIs WG, which parts of the charter are of particular interest, your expectations, and where you might be able to contribute. > > Thank you, and welcome to the working group. > > regards, Frederick > > Frederick Hirsch, Nokia; > Co-Chair, W3C DAP Working Group > > [1] http://www.w3.org/2009/05/DeviceAPICharter > > [2] http://www.w3.org/2009/dap/ > > [3] http://www.w3.org/2009/dap/minutes > > [4] http://www.w3.org/2009/dap/#meetings > > [5] http://www.w3.org/Project/IRC/ > > [6] http://irc.w3.org/?channels=#dap > > [7] http://www.w3.org/2010/11/DeviceAPICharter.html > > [8] http://www.w3.org/2009/dap/#comm > > [9] http://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/43696/paris-2011/ > > [10] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-device-apis/2011Apr/att-0000/W3C_DAC_F2F_Meeting_Paris2011_Hotels_and_Travel.pdf > > >
