Hi, Mozilla has announced their interest in developing APIs to make the most of phone's features in HTML5: http://hacks.mozilla.org/2011/08/introducing-webapi/ https://wiki.mozilla.org/WebAPI There is a lot of overlap with some of the APIs we've been working on, and the blog post says they want to bring some of the result of their work to W3C for standardization. With regard to contacts: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=674720 With regard to device status (incl. network info, battery): https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=678694 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=677166 With regard to Camera / HTML Media Capture: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451674 With regard to SMS (messaging API): https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=674725 I'm hoping Mozilla's folks will bring at least some of this work (or feedback on our existing work) to this list... Dom
