Discussing this proposal internally a question I'd like to see answered by the explainer is how implementations should ensure the user retains control over their screen brightness. With the Screen Wake Lock API the user can turn their screen off but a site can re-acquire the wake lock when the screen is turned back on again. If the same were allowed for screen brightness the user could get stuck in an unbreakable cycle of being blinded by their phone.
