I'm going to go ahead and close this as answered: there is currently no mechanism to transfer lock ownership on navigation - and, at least for now, we don't plan to add a mechanism to transfer the lock to another page. Although Martin is right that in could incentivise single page apps, the API makes it relatively easy for new document to acquire the lock. Further, because documents can't query if they are holding a lock, they must explicitly request a lock on every page load.
