The [iOS Compass app](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/compass/id1174136875) that is installed per default on iOS devices reports the altitude.

Android exposes the [air pressure](https://developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/Sensor#TYPE_PRESSURE), which can be used to calculate the altitude.
