I submitted a proposal for screen brightness which could be a standalone API, or integrate with Wake Lock: https://github.com/WICG/proposals/issues/17 I must admit I only read _all_ of the discussion here after putting the proposal together. I hear the views on "max screen brightness ~= max volume". I'm not sure I agree with that statement fully, but do think that "full" could be a good workaround to passing in "1.0", where a ceiling to brightness could be configured at the OS accessibility settings level. My particular use case that's motivated the proposal would be dependent on ambient light too but there are a lot of options out there. I think it's important to allow this to be permissions-gated, and to enforce a maximum timeout at spec/vendor level if userland code doesn't release such a lock. -- GitHub Notification of comment by willmorgan Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/screen-wake-lock/issues/129#issuecomment-741830901 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
