>I don't think there's a way to ask this question The group seems to agree on this first part of the assertion if we consider it scoped to prompting as a mechanism for user consenting. >and that's why this feature might not be viable But think differently regarding the second part. Chrome also felt it is hard to present a prompt to the user in an easily understandable way (see https://github.com/w3ctag/design-reviews/issues/207#issuecomment-350903955) and that's why we implemented new disclosure mechanisms and related UI as described in https://github.com/w3c/sensors/issues/352#issuecomment-370767932. It should be said, Chrome team working on the feature is not stopping here. We will improve related mechanisms based on user feedback and further research. Based on the concrete feedback received, this group added a note at the top of the security and privacy section to communicate the essence of this important issue and also provided some concrete examples, see https://w3c.github.io/sensors/#security-and-privacy If you have further suggestions on how the group could reword the note, please let us know. -- GitHub Notification of comment by anssiko Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/sensors/issues/352#issuecomment-371429126 using your GitHub account
