(Also just continuing thinking here)... Perhaps if we're going to strongly type it with TypeScript, we could prototype some of these types to try out? People could then fork it and try build their own to see how it feels. I am only a beginner at TS (although quite experienced in JS), but am considering giving it a go as a way to learn.
