Hello everyone, I agree with Rotan on the desirability of not enumerating the units in the APIs themselves. There is a general question about how much to reference in the interface from the Ontology. Just for information, at the momement, the names for units of measure are defined as character strings. Each physical quantity is associated with a unit of measure whose name and abbreviation are normatively specified. For example, the meter is named 'meter' and has an abbreviation of 'm'. CSS already uses unit abbreviations for a limited range of length units (there might be other types too). These abbreviations might be a useful way of supplying the unit of measure through the API. Ideally, every reference should be a URI, but if DD were to assert that the ontology were the source of these sorts of things, the values themselves could be used without ambiguity in the API. DD would not need to specify them, just to point to the ontology and declare that those strings identify the units. Best wishes Rhys
