Responses from DDWG

The period for comments on the DDR Simple API closed on 1 May, with 29
comments being recorded, many being comments from implementation teams
working with group members or third parties. The group has been working
on responses to these comments. Several have been addressed by
resolutions of the group, which shall be distributed over the next 24
hours via this mailing list. The remaining issues are expected to be
resolved soon.

The comments can be categorized as follows:
-	Typographical errors.
-	Potentially ambiguous phrasing.
-	Potentially ambiguous naming (e.g. of methods).
-	Incomplete explanations.
-	Additional or alternative functionality.

These are generally being addressed in the following ways:
-	Correcting typographical errors.
-	Providing alternative phrases or names.
-	Adding necessary explanation or clarification.
-	Identifying how certain functionality may already be supported.
-	Considering the inclusion of the additional functionality.
-	Deferring functionality for the "advanced" API that is
anticipated to follow as a result of other W3C efforts.

The group is making every effort to make the suggested improvements,
while maintaining the API essentially as published. It is recognised
that some additional guidance for developers may be required, which may
be provided through material that the group will provide separately.

On behalf of the DDWG,
Rotan Hanrahan,
Chair.
