Dimitris, you may remember the very long discussion that we had about whether all constraint components apply everywhere, i.e. both to node constraints (shapes) and property constraints. In the end, after a long "battle", for the sake of making progress, I gave in to a compromise that every component could be applied everywhere because I was assuming I could use sh:targetClass to still distinguish between the two cases. For example, this allows me to state that sh:ClosedConstraintComponent sh:targetClass sh:Shape, but not sh:PropertyConstraint. Our tools rely on this mechanism in several places. By putting both into a subclass relationship, this is no longer possible and we would need to reopen this whole issue once again. Compare this to OO. Classes can have different characteristics than properties, e.g. they can be marked as "abstract", while properties cannot. But properties can have a cardinality while classes cannot. We are losing this flexibility in your proposed design. Sorry but I am forced to try everything to block this proposal with the strongest possible -1. All you achieve is that you will swap one potential formal objection with a certain formal objection (by TopQuadrant). In the interest of making any progress, I urge you to consider whether you can live with the current design, even if it's not perfect from your perspective.
