I believe this ticket http://www.w3.org/2014/data-shapes/track/issues/2 has outlived its usefulness and should just be closed. Figuring out which skills we can expect from the audience should have happened at the very start of the WG (and this was probably the intention of the original ticket), yet we are now too deep in the process that I do not believe that any resolution here would change the language design. We have already made decisions on things like Core, SPARQL and there are plans for a Compact Syntax. The ticket had zero activity since November. I think we should move on. Holger
