https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=29953 Bug ID: 29953 Summary: Map "font-family: cursive" to platform Nastaliq font Product: CSS Version: unspecified Hardware: PC OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Fonts Assignee: jdaggett@mozilla.com Reporter: ebraminio@gmail.com QA Contact: public-css-bugzilla@w3.org Target Milestone: --- After seeing https://trac.webkit.org/changeset/206791/ I thought it would be good idea to encourage browser vendors to also map "font-family: cursive" to a Nastaliq font [if not defining a dedicated name to Nastaliq family of fonts]. Some initial possible mapping, just to illustrate eventual possible effect of the document change, using fonts available one the platforms: * "Urdu Typesetting" to "cursive" on Windows 8 > on browsers on Windows for Urdu. * "Noto Urdu Nastaliq" to "cursive" on Android, [Linux and iOS?] for Urdu. And if it is possible to map generic font name to a not platform font but generally available one, * "IranNastaliq" to "cursive" on all platform. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.
