So to be clear, in JS, getComputedStyle is sufficient, assuming it is properly
implemented, but you want the same thing in CSS?

Your comments seem to revolve around JS uses, not CSS uses.

What is the use case for having this information from CSS? Can you give a
concrete example of what you are trying to do?
